PocketWizard … at last!

September 28th, 2009

A couple of weeks ago I posted about how I was bummed out that the new PocketWizards were sold out all over the place as I set my mind on going out and buying them. This morning I got my PocketWizards.

PocketWizard

I purchased one transmitter and only one receiver, since I only have one flash at the moment. When I buy another flash you can bet money that I’ll purchase a second receiver along with it. Can’t wait to test these bad boys out.

RIP Roc Raida (1972 – 2009)

Hip-Hop DJ, producer, and turntablist Roc Raida passed away yesterday. Here he is giving a lesson on how you can juggle beats on a pair of turntables.

Rest in peace

That’s a bummer … man!

PocketWizard

I was completely ready to go out and purchase PocketWizards (pictured left) this week. I received an email about a week and half ago saying they were now available in Sweden, I decided to spent the money, and was ready to enter the brave new world of off camera flash photography.

Unfortunately they are sold out everywhere, and no one can give me a set date on when more stock will arrive.

Fucking aye man!

Only Built 4 Cuban Linx ... Pt. 2

When it comes to films I tend not to be a fan of sequels, especially when the sequel comes some 10 years after the original film. When I heard that Raekwon was going to make a sequel to his classic album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx … I brought my sequel skepticism with me.

Having listened to it for the past week I have to say I was really surprised, Raekwon managed to make a solid album that feels like vintage Wu-Tang Clan. Considering how rap music has been destroyed by it’s own popularity it’s nice to hear something that brings you back to a time when things were different.

Check it out and buy the mp3 album on Amazon, these tracks are absolute fire:

  • Sonnys Missing
  • Canal Street
  • Gihad
  • 10 Bricks
  • Penitentiary

No Flickr app for you!

September 12th, 2009

While on the topic of iTunes, Yahoo released a free iPhone app for Flickr this week. However I can’t download it because my iTunes account is linked to Sweden and the app hasn’t been made available in that particular iTunes store.

It’s infuriating because I pay for a pro-Flickr account and because it’s available in other countries like the UK and France. Last I checked one of the big motivators behind the EU was to encourage trade between countries and allow consumers to purchase goods in any EU member nation.

Why does iTunes operate in it’s own special universe where the laws or our economic union don’t apply? Sure would be nice if they just made one store for the whole EU so that things like this could be avoided.
