Inner Loop Records is an independent record label out of Washington DC that’s been dropping the best concept mix tapes for a couple of years now. They started with the “Raise The Hammer” series where they remixed the latest hits with their own beats. Then they dropped two remake album, one for Nas’s Illmatic and the other for Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt, reworking the beats with rappers from DC reinterpreting the lyrics. Now they bring you K-Beta’s 89 to 09 mix tape.

K-Beta, a part of Inner Loop Records, is by far one of the dopest rappers to come out of Washington DC. On this mix tape he gets real serious, giving you a history lesson in Hip-Hop starting back in 89 reinterpreting classics all the way to the present. It’s because K-Beta is such a dope rapper that this tape works. With a weaker rapper it would be too easy to get caught comparing the songs to their originals. That’s not the case on this one, Beta can rap and he carries this tape from start to finish.
