According to the article on CNN more than 54%, in a poll group of people that attends church at least once a week, said that it is often justified to use torture.

What is it about organized religion that attracts people that are nuttier that shit?

The chapters featuring burning bushes, men living inside of fishes for 3 days, a man parting water, all get interpreted literally. That’s the way it went down and don’t you dare say anything against it. Science be dammed they even built a museum where Adam & Eve ride dinosaurs with a saddle like they were ponies.

However the parts where Jesus talks about loving thy neighbor and turning the other check, and that all this Christ like stuff. That stuff can be reinterpreted and not taken literally. After all Jesus never saw Jack Bauer save Los Angeles from certain doom by shocking a terrorist with a lamp cord until he confessed his evil scheme.
