In memory of Big L

Yesterday market 11 years since rapper Big L passed away. He was definitely one of the best ever to hold a mic, and would have likely turned into a huge superstar had he not been murdered. Rest in peace L.

I’m going on a Big L binge this week and celebrate the man’s entire catalog!

Geocities is no more … RIP

Yahoo finally killed off Geocities. I have to admit I feel a little bit of nostalgia when I think back on Geocities. I remember quite well when the service was launched, I definitely made a couple bad Geocities websites back in the day. It was with out a doubt part of my introduction to web design and it definitely affected the things I learned and the paths I travelled there after.

NetNuts has a nice article with 10 reasons why closing Geocities is long overdue. If you are like me it will take you on trip down memory lane.

RIP Roc Raida (1972 – 2009)

In memory of Michael Jackson

I was really shocked last evening when I started hearing that Michael Jackson had passed away. While I was never a particular big fan of his music, I can’t deny the impact he had on the music industry and a several generations of music fans. I really hope he’s in a better place now, and leave you with an HD copy of his game changing music video for the song “Thriller.”
